Is there a charge for a private jewelry consultation?
No. The private studio consultation, diamond or jewelry evaluation, hospitality and initial design conversation are complimentary. At least twenty-four hours' notice is requested if you need to cancel or reschedule.
How long does a consultation take?
Most first consultations are scheduled for approximately ninety minutes. A follow-up CAD review or design confirmation may be shorter.
Can I bring people with me?
Yes. Each private studio seats your designer and up to three guests. Couples, parents, siblings and trusted friends are welcome.
Will other clients hear our conversation?
No. Diamond Consulate uses separate enclosed consultation studios. Another appointment may occur elsewhere in the gallery, but clients do not share a table, designer or conversation.
Can I schedule without my partner knowing?
Yes. Many engagement ring consultations are confidential. Confirmations go only to the contact information you provide, and nothing is sent to a shared address unless you specifically request it.
Do you offer evening consultations?
Yes. Appointments are available until 8:00 pm Monday through Thursday and until 10:00 pm Friday and Saturday. Evening engagement ring consultations are among the most requested times.
Do you accept walk-ins?
No. Diamond Consulate is appointment-only so the studio, designer, prepared stones and time can be reserved specifically for each client.
Can I book before I am ready to buy?
Yes. Early consultations are useful for understanding budgets, diamond options, design timelines and what information to gather before a proposal or milestone.
Can I bring my own diamond, gemstone or design?
Yes. Bring loose stones, inherited pieces, existing jewelry, sketches or inspiration images. The materials will be evaluated and the designer will explain what is possible, advisable and appropriate for the intended design.
How many appointments does custom jewelry require?
Two appointments are common. The first establishes direction, stones and an early design. The second reviews and confirms the final CAD. Some projects are completed in one session, while complex work may require additional review.
Can you help with proposal planning?
Yes. Proposal logistics may include ring timing, discreet delivery, sizing, packaging, photographer or venue coordination and planning the final handoff around the proposal date.
Is there a dress code?
No. Clients arrive from work, dinner, errands and occasionally the gym. The diamonds remain professionally indifferent.
Will I be pressured to buy?
No. You may leave with a selected diamond, a design, a quote, several options or simply more information. There is no required purchase.
